This man was as brave as they come. When his unit, A/1/9, came under heavy fire from a main force Viet Cong battalion, this artillery forward observer stood up in order to get a better view of where to pinpoint an artillery fire mission to save his company. It was then that he was mortally wounded. Rest in peace.
